My show is now in my garage and basement, and at work too! I have finished 2 paintings and a plein aire painting I did with the sketch club-a church steeple. I started jonathan's painting last year and I am finally just about done-the tulip is from my recent photos at the botanical gardens-it is spring!

ArtWorks Show

Well in the pouring rain, my show opened last night. Lots of good feedback from the crowd-the new 4 panel painting was definitely a hit. I feel a bit lonely without all my paintings around me in my studio-i will probably have to go visit them at the gallery over the next 3 weeks.

My show is this Friday and I have been hard at work on framing all the paintings and finishing my last painting-which is made up of four individual panels-something new-not the best picture but you can get the idea......now I just need to frame it!!

I lied-I did one more painting of leaves-I like the effect of the leaves coming out of the dark. I am experimenting with new surfaces and the road down to the river near the marsh is on a board with gesso and pastel pumice-very rough interesting surface to work on but really limits alot of detail-perhaps that is good! I also have just about finished the lotus painting -I am going to try my teachers suggestion and do a four panel painting of one picture-more to come on that....

Another colorful flower painting-next one is a landscape!

This is the latest-see I really am back into color! actually I am trying to use up what paper I have and this black paper makes me want to put down vibrant color! I am going to stop flowers and leaves soon-really.

I am busy in my new space! Getting used to being in the garage-miss Syd across the hall for inspiration-it seemed easy to keep at it when she was busy too-oh,well-Our big news is that Jonathan was accepted into the VCU art foundation program-needless to say he is happy, relieved and proud of his accomplishment. We are all ecstatic! Even Sam is proud of his bro.

Still working on the birthplace painting-not happy with the trees in the foreground, but otherwise I am done- finished a very colorful "leaf" painting- and started another iris-I am very into color at the moment-which is a good thing!

I have been busy since the end of 20008-I moved my studio into the garage with the help of Bill on the garage prep and Gary on the move-So I am now spending my time in the garage-still getting used to the arrangement, but it certainly is more convenient!
